I LOVE A GOOD FIND.

Not a good deal. A good find. There is a difference, and if you know it, you’re already my kind of person.

A deal is a discount on something everybody can buy. A find is the wool coat nobody else spotted, wedged between two windbreakers, in perfect condition, for almost nothing. A find has a story. A find is yours.

I have been chasing that feeling for years, and eventually I had a closet full of pieces I loved and no more room to keep them. So I started FindLoveList.

THE MISSION

Perfectly good clothes get thrown away every day. Not worn out — just unwanted. Wool coats, real leather boots, cable knits somebody wore twice. They end up in bins because nobody had the time to look.

I have the time. I like the looking. So I do it, and then I hand the good stuff to you, priced honestly for what it actually is.

WHY THESE PRICES

I could price the wool overcoat at $40 and the t-shirt at $3. Most resellers do, and there is nothing wrong with it. But then you’d be doing maths, and comparing, and wondering whether you were getting a fair price.

So I sort everything into three budgets instead — Under $10, Under $15, Under $20. Pick the one that suits you today and everything you can see is already inside it. No haggling, no comparing, no wondering. And on Friday I pull a handful of finds out of the shop and drop them to $5 each.

Style has never been about money. It’s about knowing what you like. I just make it cheap enough that you can actually experiment.

MY WEEK

Monday to Thursday I’m out thrifting. Estate sales, church bins, the back racks nobody bothers with. Then everything comes home to be washed, steamed, checked seam by seam, photographed and measured.

Friday the countdown runs and Upcoming Finds fills with what I found.

Friday at 6:00 PM the drop opens and everything goes live at once. There is exactly one of each piece. When it’s gone, it’s genuinely gone — I cannot restock a one-of-a-kind.
